As fellow homeowners, we get it. If you’re going to invest thousands of dollars into a backyard makeover, you want it done as soon as possible. However, at the same time, you should be reminding yourself that you want it done RIGHT (and more importantly, done right the first time!). Otherwise, the consequence typically involves paying the trusted contractor (who you should’ve chose originally) just as much, if not more, to replace the shoddy work. After doing our fair share of market research, it’s pretty clear there’s a distinct difference between above-average and below-average contractors. The trusted ones are typically going to have wait lists of 2-3 months, while the lackluster options will be ready to get started tomorrow.
Our Design Team Is Awesome
You’re paying for a team of highly skilled designers. Our Senior Hardscape Designer, Ken Gibson, oversees our design department. Ken graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture. He started his career designing multi-million dollar golf courses. As if his experience wasn’t enough, Ken’s passion for outdoor living spaces ensures that every job we produce will be beautiful and long-lasting for years to come.
There’s a lot that goes into a design plan — it’s more than just a quick sketch. Between drainage, spacial flow, and overall functionality, there’s a lot to consider when planning a hardscape project. That’s why our designers will ask you about your family when they meet you. Do you have kids? How often do you entertain? All of these questions are asked with your patio design in mind.
Our Crew Members Are Artists
We don’t use subcontractors and we don’t hire everyone who walks through our door. This means your project is going to be done by someone who cares — someone who takes pride in their work. We’ve been in business for over a decade, and we still employee the first two crew members to ever join our team. Our guys are happy to come to work everyday because they know the value they provide to homeowners. Hardscaping is not just laying down rocks. All of the work we do requires extensive knowledge, training and practice. So, even though we’re 12 weeks out, we aren’t just going to “hire someone” to speed up production. When we do bring on a new team member, they are put through a rigorous training period before we ever expect them to fly solo.
A Warranty With Meaning
A warranty is only as good as long as the company has been in business. We often laugh when some contractors claim to offer a 10 year warranty on their projects. How can you offer your clients a 10 year warranty if you’ve only been in business for a year?

We’re Not Looking To Make A Quick Buck
Any outdoor living project is a serious investment. You want to make sure your project is done to the finest of standards, while also getting a fair deal on the total price. After working with over 3,500 Kansas City homeowners, we’ve built a culture here at Hinkle Hardscapes focused on emphasizing trust and proving we aren’t in business to simply make a quick buck. Chances are, if you receive multiple bids for your project, we’re not going to be the cheapest option. This can be due to a number of reasons, but one, in particular, is the fact that we ensure we’re creating a quality product each and every time. Each element is going to be installed by one of our expert craftsmen utilizing reliable materials. We don’t like leaving any job unless we’re 100% sure the homeowner will immediately fall in love with their new space!
In It For the Long Haul
